There are some very impressive micro drives available now and designs and quality show no sign of slowing down.
Right now I’m reworking the little red Heil Davenport 35 tonner I posted a few weeks ago by replacing the drive with a 14mm axle spacing from Toma which runs beautifully! I hope to have it done complete with siderods and post a video later this weekend.
On another note, a friend in the UK just pointed out that Zimo recently released the MN250 which is designed for 5v motors. That’s a game changer for the 6x10 and 6x12 coreless that are hard to get smooth with a regular decoder. He scratchbuilt built a small switcher and experienced complete success with a 6x10.
