What design/production snafu?

Now I'm not an expert on these, but I believe there are, broadly speaking, two styles of these turbine locomotives; wide hood and narrow hood. In much the same was that an F7 and a GP7 are mechanically similar but with different bodies. Scale Trains made the early full width body locomotives. If they had been planning ahead they could have designed a narrow hood mechanism and used it for both the wide and narrow locomotives. But they didn't, its much more of an F7 width mechanism. So if they want to do the narrow, or Veranda, locomotives it would require extra investment for the new mechanism.
The U50s were built from the turbines when they were retired, so if there were a narrow turbine mechanism then they would be a logical model to produce.

Short version: the forehead slap came too late in production, and too expensive to go back and fix.

Also wouldn't mind - a true current designed F9. SDP45, a rerun of the old Deluxe Innovations NP & GN woodchip cars , GN plywood sided boxcars.

More variety at the intermodal cars, 40 feet and 53 feet.

An RTR 48' spine-car set or the 10-unit Impak spines made for Santa Fe would be cool.

I am hoping to have some good new for modelers that have been wanting a Baldwin centercab by the end of January, early February if everything goes right.....

Please tell me there will be the post rebuild EJ&E units.

Thinking about it; just a basic early 20th century wooden passenger car with closed ends with 3 axle trucks.  Bonus for baggage and lounge car versions.  And super bonus for a large driver early 20th century "almost modern" 4-4-0/4-6-0 steamer to go with them.

High Hood:  Thank you!  I get Lowell's email updates, but don't watch Train Talk, so hadn't heard that.  I'll be looking for it.

Mark:  Wuttermelon had 3D printed extended coupler pockets, for MT 1025/truck mount couplers, but I don't know if they're still available, since Shapeways died.  I'm actually quite surprised that MT has never made these, as it wouldn't be hard to do.

Peter:  I'd also like the U33C, as the GN and Np bought quite a few of them.  The SDP45 would be nice, the GN had them, but would an SDP40 be acceptable?  That would use the SD45 mechanism and trucks, requiring only a new body.

bbunge:  The wooden baggage car should sell well, as many of them were still in MOW service in the 1970s.

These would be great to have as they made up a good portion of MOW fleets in the 50s. Also, i would love to be able to model this era, but even when Shapeways was active, never found anyone doing closed vestibule wooden passenger cars.

Oh man, I'd LOVE early 20th century wooden passenger cars.

I'd also love to see SW1001s, or even the MTL SW1500 collabs come back.

I'd take a SDP40 as well since that would use the SD45 mechanism.  If Scaletrains did their Sd45 in N, that could be a possibility, although they would be more suited to doing AS-616s and related models considering the variations.

How about a good first or second generation locomotive assembled on an oil and grease free assembly line?  A buyer should not need to pull an oily mess out of the factory box and get out the electronics cleaner and rag.
