Yep... it was @Kisatchie 's home road... I picked up a bunch of his cars when he was getting out of the hobby.

Vincent left TRW eight years ago apparently having quit MRR a few years earlier; but popped in with a couple of posts in late 2021. When he was cleaning house in 2016 I took a couple of dozen sticks of unused ME C55 off his hands. Faded recall is that he lost at least some of his MMR inventory to flooding, which apparently contributed to his loss of interest. I tripped across his moniker (including Dee) in a photography forum, that also a few years ago, his involvement there indicating he had simply moved from one expensive hobby to another.

Vince had issues that played-out on the forum, as many will remember. He passed in 2022.

As he indicated that he had nothing to say train-wise and his "...non-railroad posts here were a burden to TRW...", on May 31, 2017, Vincent posted in the Crew Lounge that he was leaving the forum.

In his final post in the Crew Lounge on December 27, 2021, Vincent stated "I'm still interested in model railroading (even though I'll never be able to build a layout) and would like to start here afresh."

I didn’t realize that he had passed. I hope that he found peace.   He seemed to be an ok guy, but his participation here was sometimes disruptive and was mostly a crew lounge poster.

Never met the guy but I saw him here and over on Trainboard.  His posts were whimsical but I did get a kick out of his ape comments sometimes.

I didn't know he passed away as there were no mention of him being sick or was in any kind of accident.

Sad to hear another MRR'er gone whether you like the guy or not.

While I did  recall that Kiz has left the forum  (and MRR hobby in general) I did not realize how long ago that was. Where did the time go?  I also did not know that he has passed in 2022.

I did enjoy his unusual style of posting.  Interesting that he stated "...non-railroad posts here were a burden to TRW..." while, like John said, being mostly a crew lounge poster.  Oh well, life marches forward.

RIP Kiz! At least Miss Dee is immortal (at least for as long as the image is hosted on bayouline.com).

I hope he didn’t continue a downward spiral until his death.  I remember Kiz from the old Atlas forum many years ago.  He seemed like a different person by the time he left TRW.  I had no idea that he had died.  I hope he rests in peace.

Sad news. All of my dealings with Vincent were pleasant - he was an actual modeler (I bought some SOUTHERN boxcars from him once - when I received them they turned out to be ones that he had painted and decaled).

Nothing posted relative to his hobby interests anywhere that I know of.

As I march to my own inevitable demise... given the two recent health scares... I have taken interest in occasionally searching the web for folks whose paths have crossed mine to see if they're still with us, especially before trying to refresh the relationship, or even to just offer a "How are you?" Since Kiz was recalled above, I thought I'd see what was up considering I'd found postings in that photography forum last time I searched for him.

In a sealed envelope for my wife labeled "In Case of Emergency", among "how to" documentation, I have detailed instructions for contacting various people to "let them know". This includes logging into certain online accounts, such as TRW, to pass the word, even if it's just a link to an obituary. It's my feeling that this would relieve her from most "Haven't heard from Mike lately" inquiries a year or more after the fact that could be distressing for her. This is especially the case with TRW, where I do have several a$$hats in my circle of local friends.

I talked to him (via Email) a year or so after he left TRW, checking to see if he had anything left to sell, and he told me linked up with a hobby shop to sell the remainder of his inventory and he seemed pleased to have it off his shoulders along with the money he was getting out of the sales.

His new passion was photography and he said he was really enjoying it... (Easy entry into the hobby with instant gratification (digital) probably helped..

I didn't know he passed either... thats too bad... Hopefully it was peaceful and of natural causes.. ~Ian
