If you are in the need of a relatively new Tamper from Plasser and Theurer look for GreenMax!
It can run on its own power! It has Movable parts! Its a Tamper! WOOHOO MoW FOR THE WIN!!!1!

*clears throat*
Sorry.
In all seriousness, I picked one up from Hobby Search recently and it's OK. I am sure it could use lots of sprucing up and a more North American paint scheme but for what Im doing it will be perfect.

It is no were close to being DCC friendly but I'm sure ill eventually tackle a DZ126 for it.
It was a bit of a PITA to open up, much like the Kato SDP40F there are body clips that hold the body on snug.

It is also as bright as the sun when it is lit up. Oh? Did I forget that part? well it has Lights in it.

Awesome!
Though, I will say, if/when you decide to pull it apart, leave the truck on with the screw, it will make it easier to take apart. There is a grey piece The body snaps into at the rear, it is glued at one end but the unpowered truck holds it down. If you remove the truck before pull the shell off, you can tweak the main frame.

The drive truck also snaps into place, I'd suggest adding a drop of lube as mine was dry.

There is a lot of space in the cab so if the windows get tinted I'm sure a speaker would fit nicely.  ;)

I wouldn't toss that out of bed for eating crackers. Looks cool, and like a fun way to ruin an ops session!
