The 70ton asf truck has been around for a little while. I think it was first introduced on the Great Northern PS-2 release.

One notable difference is on the PS2 car they have offset bolsters, but on the flat they have centered bolsters. Not sure if/when MTL is selling these trucks as separate parts, but it would be nice, especially the centered bolster version.

Are they therefore similar to the 70 ton trucks found on the Husky Stacks? I believe those are centered bolster as well.

Right you are Sam. Identical. I forgot all about those cars.

Look what you made me do! I'd bought a set in the "before times" and I've not touched them in years... They weren't very TSC friendly.

The Husky stack trucks appear to be completely identical to the thrall flat car trucks, down to the asymmetrical bolsters. Note the subtle difference in thickness on the righthand side.

Its super subtle, but you can only install those trucks one way on the husky stacks as it turns out for coupler clearance. I got a little freaked out for a second when I was reassembling after my N-Possible conversion that I had a problem, but I just had the truck reversed.

There is tons of room for a shorter shank coupler, but MTL seems to always use long shank couplers in their body mounts for the most part. I guess its to ensure maximum cornering ability, but it comes at the expense of reliability in reverse moments.

Sharp eye there, I've never noticed the asymmetrical bolster.

Edit:  I do actually want the yellow Trailer Train version, that part wasn't a joke.

Will be watching for circa 1975 friendly releases.  :D Top notch model MTL!
