You can make double track free-mon modules and run them with others. All is need from you or another module builder would be a 2 to 1 transition module.

You could also make a 4 track mainline, but would need to eventually get back down to 1T to mate with the rest of the layout ... but to make that worth while, you would probably need to have 12-16 feet worth of modules so that it didn't look weird ..

Bingo, it’s pretty much the same as T Trak in that you can do whatever you want (within reason) within the end plates so long as it can eventually play nice. I’ve been kicking around the idea of having an interchange for my layout as a two piece Free-mo module which I can connect to the layout and still have it fit the Free-mo standard

Most of the Free-moN I've seen has been single-tracked. I ask (without the intent to change my present course), is there a Free-moN option for two (or four) mainline tracks? Curiosity only...not looking to change formats at present.

With some of the Free-moN folks I hang out with in the East coast and Midwest here, there does seem to be a trend moving towards double track modules. At least presently in the building and/or planning phases. If you do decide to dive into that modular format, go with an interlocking plant like MG tower, I wouldn’t worry about having an adjoining module that goes down to one track.

With Rocky Mountain Train Supply now offering module kits, it’s pretty easy to get your feet wet. But I’d highly recommend a small one to goof around with, since as with any modular format, they have a tendency to multiply quickly in the work shop.

I asked, yes! But I'm not changing formats. It's funny, too, how I used to be skeptical of the T-TRAk format, and yet you guys managed to convince me.

I think if this were my only model railroad outlet, it might leave me somewhat unsatisfied. But I have my HOn3 work for the exacting-down-to-the-last-weed modeling when I want that. This project is just to get my Pennsy on JFRTM-style. And to see how far I can push the most traditional form of T-TRAK...because I like a challenge!

There's as much time in toting, storing, setting up and taking down as there is enjoying running some trains on it when the club meets once in a blue moon.  As Dave has demonstrated, a few nice looking modules can quickly and easily be supplemented with a few more, or a few blanks, to form a serviceable JFRTM layout.

Get some HO V-groove basswood car siding.  It makes excellent N scale timber road crossings.
