Heck, and speaking of eras, I can put my 4014 with some smooth side U.P. passenger cars and a modern GE U.P loco on the rails and be perfectly justified.

Speaking as another who doesn't fret about whether something "fits my era" or not and buy what I like, you are not alone. We are, after all, still playing with model trains.

What does that have to do with anything?  I buy what I like too and I also "play" with my model trains...I just don't play with model trains that weren't in my chosen era and location, and I don't want to.
And, I have a sh!tload of fun buying, working on and running just the model trains that fit my era/location.

Cheerio!

Fine. It's just a discussion.
