Arnold U25C and U28C - (alternate) Micro-Trains couplers

Hello,
I know that there has been some intense discussion many years ago when Arnold first offered the U25C and then the U28C.
Can you please advise regarding couplers? Mine do fall apart when taken off the shell and I would like to replace them.
But Micro-Trains offerings are so confusing - can somebody of you please point to the right Micro-Trains coupler for Arnold U25C and U28C?
Cheers
Javier

I installed MT 1015's in mine, but I think I had to trim small "blocks" out of two corners on each opening on the pilot, so the couplers boxes would fit. Not a big modification and easy to do. I sold the locomotive, otherwise I'd post pics.

Apologies for necto'ing this thread, but I have one of these locos coming today and am already dreading rapid unscheduled coupler disassembly. Does anyone have further suggestions for MTL (or other) coupler replacement options?

I also am curious. I up one of the u25c recently and I am not sure if it is dc or dcc. I’ve been holding off removing the shell until I figure out what conversion I need to do to the couplers.

I loved these when they came out and still have a few.
I cannot offer any insight into MT couplers (and await who can offer it) but getting the couplers out and back in to install decoder was "challenging."
