BLI's upcoming N scale releases

I see the delivery of the new run of PRR M1s has been pushed back to December.

which means the PRR J1 or H9/10 are probably 2027-ish.

Also being "worked on" at BLI, although not officially announced, are the PRR PB70 (passenger/baggage combine) and the PRR Z74 business car.  The PB70 will be a valuable addition.  These were very common cars and will go great with the N scale P70s BLI already released.  Both these cars were recently done in HO.

Apparently Atlas isn't the only one with issues with product coming from the factory.  The Latest Broadway Flyer has this small note:

N Scale PRR M1a/M1b Project: Recent samples did not meet our running standards. We’re working closely with our factory to ensure they pass our quality control checks.

A: Thanks for the question Fred! Before we choose what products we make in N scale, we want to see how they do in HO scale first. So before they come to N scale we would build them in HO first. Don't worry though, we have many other N scale steam locomotive ideas on our radar that we would like to build at some point!

A: It's a possibility! We haven't put it on our radar yet at this time, but it could be something we look into.

A: We will do some of them in N scale! We currently have the designs for the Kenefick car done, before we decide to do the 2066 and Fox River in N scale, we want to see how the HO Scale cars do first.

Our next HO and N scale announcements will take place at the Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Here’s a little hint: our HO scale locomotive will be a Brass-Hybrid steam engine, and we’ll be introducing a newly tooled diesel in N scale.

My guess is a formal announcement of either the GP30 or the RF-16.

It would be intriguing to see how well the Kenefick would sell in N scale considering it was part of the Kato Excursion set. I have an HO version on preorder myself as that's about the only thing I still "collect" in HO.

If/when they offer the cars in N scale, I would use my spare Kenefick to turn into Lone Star/Lincoln as they are very similar cars, one side of windows is correct, and the roof details are close as well. While I don't mind my 3D prints of 2066 or Idaho, I would gladly pay for a injection molded version to replace them. I constantly have "warping" issues with the chassis of the 2066.

Still dont understand why Kato hasn't offered renamed/numbered versions of the cars they offer.

That explains why the M1 release has been delayed.  Glad they are handling the QC issues up front.

While searching for something else I came across this from 2022.  Unfortunately it didn't age well.    I wonder what happened to throw off the schedule?

I have been hoping BLI will release the I1, they were all over the PRR system and vital to any PRR modeler.  My contact at BLI emailed me about a month ago.  He believes the H10 will be released in 2023, the J1 in 2024, and the I1 in 2025.  The I1 is definitely in the works at BLI, but it is going to be a while.
