Hmmm, I'll have to get some of these. Amherst is turning into an expensive show with all the announcements.

Are these the same ones being made by Athearn? Or does Otter Valley make these?

Cool.  Two new Canadian manufacturers both dipping into N scale on the same day.  :)  Athearn is doing the 6400 version of this car (very similar, but still different) so smart of Otter to do the 6000.  I'll step up for a few of each.  But hot damn, I need to save some money for the Aurora boxes and the ST reefers.

Looks like we all picked the wrong year to stop working overtime.

I saw one of these on NS in Kenova a couple years back.  Only one I've seen.  My first thought was "Why is a 1960s/70s woodchip car running here and now?

They're really not that close, especially the truck locations, but, modeling the Northwest in the 70s, I'd never paid any attention to modern scrap cars.

Oops, Athearn is also doing the 6000s.  But only one roadname in common.

Just received an email that the 6000s and 6400s have now arrived and will be shipping out orders tomorrow.

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...

Woo hoo! Order placed.

These cars appear to come out of the same place as the recent Aurora 7550 Plate F boxcars, as evidenced by the teaser photo in the very bottom of their boxing day email. The wheels and couplers look identical.

All of the images for the ordering pages are of the HO scale car.

Now to see how rapidly we can run them out of stock. I tend to think they may sell out marginally slower than Aurora Miniatures did.

Is Otter Valley going to be the only place to buy these?

This sure looks like a (very nice) N scale car to me, including the Aurora-style couplers:

I'll be ordering a few.  These make a modest, but fairly regular appearance on Tehachapi.

Is Otter Valley going to be the only place to buy these?

Judging from the description: "AN OTTER VALLEY EXCLUSIVE!!", I would guess yes.  But perhaps they have made arrangements for a separate US distribution?  IDK.  I've been very pleased in my dealings with them, and the price works out to ~$31 USD per car.  Pretty good for a high-end model these days.  Shipping cost is the only question (welcome to our world...)

BTW, they have recently re-stocked some of the Aurora TBOX, BKTY, LRS and UCRY models, in case anyone is still looking.  No Ferromex though.

Looks like they've been busy! The images are mostly all updated on the ordering pages now; It wasn't that way last night, or maybe my browser had them cached. In any case, I'm optimistic that they should be on par with the Aurora cars, given the clear family resemblance. I'm crossing my fingers those boxes are separate parts like on the Aurora boxcars!

They seem to have made far more road names and road numbers than listed in the initial advertisement. That's a lot of different SKUs, and a literal alphabet soup of companies. Who knew hauling trash was so popular?

Actually, the cars look too good. The few I've seen in person were scratched and beat to hell from the trash service.

So Aurora made these for Otter Valley?
