This isn't the car with the first ever in n scale feature? Guess there's at least one more freightcar in ST's pipeline.

I was looking for photos of these cars last night, and I found four of the six oxide red car numbers on Fallen Flags.  Two of them were photographed in 1979 and the other two in 1982.  I found one of the yellow TT cars photographed in 1991.  I am going to have to think about what I want to order for my 1984 era.  I am thinking three oxide and one yellow.  I do recall seeing these moving loaded westbound on the Conrail Pittsburgh Line in the 1980’s and 1990’s.  Not sure of the originator though.  I imagine it was Bethlehem Steel.  Either Johnstown, Sparrows Point, Steelton or Bethlehem.  I am not sure of the product mix of Bethlehem’s plants.  I hope these do well.

The HO announcement said they were originally assigned to Steelton.

I wonder if these cars are designed to be a starting point for other versions. There was discussion on the MFCL that about 100 of them were eventually converted to TTPX bulkhead cars. I also wonder if these are close enough to be modified into the half-bulkhead cars that CR equipped with coil racks.

The bulkheads are currently scheduled for release at the end of the month. And based off what they have done in HO, looks like we could get the F68CH/DH in the future

Ok, another prototype I didn't know that I need ...  :D

So it looks like these went everywhere hauling rebar, so I guess I need at least one.

Will they offer rebar loads?

So Scale Trains gives N scalers the "finger."

A needed car, but almost Rapido-like in its uniqueness. At least they traveled all over the country. I'm in for 1 or 2, but if these guys want home run style hits on future releases, as they hint at in their State of Scaletrains end of year video, this car may not do it.  I'm already suspicious of tracking issues on curves given the underbody detail shots showing brake piping that goes in between the wheels under the truck sideframe area. Same issue possibly with their new 48 foot coil cars, which look freaking redonculously good.

The 48’ coil cars track perfectly… no issue there.
