T-Trak What would keep you from building a TTRAK module?

FWIW - TrainBoard has separate sticky threads for Everything NTrak, N scale T-Trak, FreeMoN, and HCD group.  The N Scale T-Trak thread has 106 pages and 2109 replies, the HCD group has 12 pages and 230 replies, Everything NTrak has 4 pages and 77 replies, and FreeMoN has 3 pages and 51 replies.

Full disclosure - I would be in favor of a separate section for T-Trak.  I’ve been purchasing some Unitrack for 1 or more T-Trak modules I’m thinking about building. It would be nice to have relevant info in 1 section.

I’ll run for cover before the flame war erupts.

My Nn3 McCabe Mill Ttrak project will be 'the module' for Altoona in 2025.  This thing just got a huge boost from the success of the Showcase Nn3 Shay build, and it negotiates the 4 1/2 inch radius Rokuhan curves just fine.  So I have a running Nn3 logging railroad on a Triple now.  That module has been just a test track for my Nn3 kits but this year the goal will be a full scenic build of it.

I'm curious why T-Trak would  warrant a separate section but not NTRAK?  I see the trolling emoticon, but seriously, is there so much T-Trak discussions going on TRW to warrant a dedicated section?  We just have one thread and some individual posts, usually in WU threads.

I think muktown128's reply gives a better idea for the traffic potential on a dedicated subforum.

And, there are a lot of separate posts, such as Ed's modules, his connector prints, etc. that are scattered around in places hard to refind.

Plus, TRW has some extremely talented contributors that can really showcase concepts and techniques in the smallish spaces of a T-Trak module, usually with excellent photography to illustrate.  There are already photos of some excellent modules scattered around over the subjects and years.

So, I just think a separate subforum would help T-Trak grow, and help the hobby bring in new people who would like to get into the hobby without the high hurdle of building a stand alone layout.

So, to paraphrase the subject of this thread, What would keep you from making a dedicated T-Trak subforum?

So, now I am seeing a green T-Trak icon at the beginning of some posts. 

That seems to be a good way to collect just the T-Trak relevant posts, by clicking on the same icon at the bottom of the  "N and Z Scales" page.

But, I am not seeing a way for a poster to put that icon on a new thread post.  Is that something the moderators need to do?  When I tested making a new post and clicked on the "Message Icon" box, all that is available is "current icon", which is not that.

Try posting a new thread in N scale -- see what happens -- if it will let you label it ..

John, I did try a test post in N Scale subforum before making that post, but could only get "current icon" in the dropdown menu after putting in a subject and test text.  That is why I posted my question about the icon usage. 

I didn't want to actually post the test message, so did not click on "post" to see what happens after the message is already posted.  I did go to the last thread I started in N Scale and hit "modify" on my original post, and saw the icon window come up, but that one still only has "current icon" available to me, too.

So, does it work only for new posts, now?  And do I need to actually submit the post and have it come up, then I can modify the icon?  Or, don't I have the necessary privilege at any point?
