Pre-War Pennsy Tuscan

I wonder whether anyone knows of a good starting point for pre-war PRR passenger Tuscan red? Something close to the color used for the B-L pre-war “hot” P70s. Thanks!

My standard paint for PRR passenger cars 1940s era (not the two-tone Fleet of Modernism) is Pollyscale  Boxcar Red. Of course it is no longer available, so that may not be much help. Both the Micro-Trains PRR heavyweight cars and the BLI P70s are pretty close to accurate PRR colors.

Thank you. Do you know a suitable start point for the Tuscan red used in the 1930s?

I would experiment with mixing some Vallejo paints such as Amaranth Red, Red Leather, Cavalry Brown, and maybe other colors.

For my PRR painting project, I'm using Tru-Color TCP-131 Pennsy Pass. Car Maroon.

I'm not a Pennsy color expert, but this color was highly recommended to me by several Pennsy modelers, although my project is not as specific in its spec's and time period as yours is.

Cheerio!
