N Scale Enthusiast - Conrail New England Division Caboose

This is exciting that N Scale Enthusiast and Bluford Shops are coming out with this model!

https://www.nscaleenthusiast.com/NSE_SR_Pages/NSE_Conrail_Caboose.asp

I ordered mine from HogTrainz, and it should be arriving tomorrow.  I ordered # 21736, but they're also offering # 21799 as another option.  However, I'm not finding any reference to #21799, so I'm wondering if this is a foobie.

I have no reason to get one, but yet, I am still tempted.

@daniel_leavitt2000 , you got yours, right?

They are out already. Saw one in person, looks outstanding. I ordered the blue bay by mistake, NSE graciously agreed to exchange for the white bay which is en route.

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea these were available. Fastest purchase I've made in months.

From what I can tell, there was one caboose painted in a New England scheme (but two versions of the scheme... which could be attributed to the idea there were two cabooses).

I think Version 1 had blue bay windows, blue window frames - orange roof vents on a black roof.

Version 2 had the white bay window white window frames, modified Conrail Logos and Black Roof and Black vents on the roof.

Then there is the Buffalo Division caboose, which is Version 2 patched for Buffalo Division.

It turns out you can get black confetti in the shape of d'cks...

Ian, I didn't know they re-patched this. The middle picture has to be Worcester. I believe that building in the background is next to Union Station and the bridge is i290.

The Buffalo patch looks like it used the same stencil found on the rotary plow, also assigned to the division.

I received mine yesterday and it looks great! This will look good at the end of a string of Flexi-Flo cars.

Wow.. they knocked this one out of the park with the lettering on the ends and steps!!..

Just wish they had done the Buffalo Division version.

Finally, an east coast caboose I wouldn't mind having. Very nicely done!

That's pretty slick.

Every once in a while I think about joining the NSE because they do stuff like this.

But like, they do a LOT of Lionelesque stuff that I just don't care about.

However, when they nail it, they nail it.

My only complaint with the car is the end doors. These were kept CR blue on the prototype, but here they are far too dark - similar to old Like-Like conrail blue. It's about 8 shades too dark. I think this was done to reduce bleed though over the white base paint, but it looks a little off. Luckily the doors are probably the last thing that will catch anyone's attention with this car.
