Dumb question- did the Erie builts ever get into Hiawatha Service? I know the DL109s did

The Erie Builds were first used on the Olympian Hiawatha.

Erie Builts were among those that took the Olympian Hi toward Washington.  From Chicago to the changeover to electric.
Steam covered the gap, with electrics on the final leg.

The first test print for the observation is in!



As expected, the end fins didn't fare so well. I thought I would try it without spacers to see how it did. Future prints will need support spacers.



The trucks turned out well, if you don't count miss-measuring the width and making them way too narrow.  I need to decide what to do about the piping in the middle.  It's way too fragile. Do I thicken it? Or leave it off?

Thanks, everyone!

For the trucks, I had decided to make things as scale as reasonably possible. The pipe is .274mm, the shock absorber is .22mm, and the shock absorber support is .22mm.



Here's a slightly beefier version.
