In recognition of CP's new status as a carrier stretching from Mexico through the central US up to the Canadian plains, I propose that the beaver mascot be replaced with a prairie dog.

Red dipjob with 'CANADIAN PACIFIC' and a golden rodent on the side? Pretty sure CPKC is what they called the proposed takeover of KCS.

Yeah, my impression in the past was that "CPKC" will either be the new parent holding company, or the holding company/new name of the KCS "division" that will be merged with SOO Line (which I believe is still the holding company for CP's American assets.

Stuff gets complicated "on paper".

However I could be very wrong about all that, and news articles and press release do keep referring to "Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC)" - as uninspired a name as possible - so who knows?

I mean here's the media advisory copy hosted directly on CP's web site:

https://www.cpr.ca/en/media/us-surface-transportation-board-decision-2023

Quote
Canadian Pacific (TSX: CP) (NYSE: CP) ("CP") and Kansas City Southern ("KCS") said today the U.S. Surface Transportation Board ("STB") issued a decision approving the CP and KCS joint merger application, subject to certain conditions, thereby authorizing the two railways to combine to form Canadian Pacific Kansas City ("CPKC"), the first single-line railway connecting the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

I remember when CNIC was a thing, figure CPKC will be the same. And if CPKC is the new name for the RR, wow. Mexico Northern's a better choice  ;)

(Don't forget the Panama Canal Railroad)

Kudos to CPRS for playing the long game...

I'd put a sombrero on the beaver and a cartoon speech balloon saying "Hola amigos!".

I'm with DirtyD79:  Beaver in a sombrero!

And, if CSX and BNSF are any indication, CPKC may be the new name.  Neither of those actually have spelled-out names anymore, the acronyms ARE the legal name.

Since CPKC also owns the Panama railroad, I wonder how long it will be before they start work on a standard gauge connection between Mexico and Panama?

Panama Railroad serves as a land bridge for coast to coast intermodal containers, do not see what traffic there would be for Mexico.
