No, no, no.  You only take the club back to horizontal, and you’ll likely stay in the trap.  It’s much more of a full swing and strike the sand behind the ball, not the ball.

EDIT:  Haha!  Just look at the guy’s backswing in the thumbnail.  Looks similar to the female golfer on my layout.  Not my first day on the job, fellas.

I started documenting my new layout that I started last week in the Layout Engineering Reports section.  It is the Milwaukee Road between Portage, WI and LaCrosse, WI in the early 1950's.  Here's a link to the build thread:

I reshot the picture with different motive power (so it’s easier to distinguish the two photos), but it took a couple of tries to get the woman’s head clearer.  Interestingly, in the first photo upthread, I only used my hands to prop the camera up and did not use anything to keep it still.  I figured that might have something to do with it.  However, this morning, I clamped a box to the fascia and set the mini-tripod on the box, and the first picture still had the same blurry faces.  Weird.  I reset the camera, to also lift it above the layout more, because my iPhone 7 apparently cannot focus on the first inch or two from the lens.  I got the picture below, but there’s still at least two artifacts: (1) the golf club in the bunker, which could hint at movement, and (2) the woman in the yellow top’s right arm.  I’m not sure if this is a Helicon thing or user error.  Despite this, I still like the photo.  I just need to get some photography and PhotoShop skillz.

I love how one shot of a nicely modeled scene can inspire such passionate discussions on what those tiny bits of painted plastic in the photo are doing...

Still playing with designs now that my layout space is fixed.  I have to admit, this photo https://railpictures.net/photo/768471/ from a location called Park Gate on the CN mainline near Jasper has me rethinking my focus.  I was initially going to do this stretch of line for the scenic and traffic potential but the nearby Grande Cache Sub was a sustained re-direction.  Now I'm not so sure.  The scenic potential of the mainline is better and the bridges on my other plan were starting to be an issue with multiple deck clearance. 

I'm planning a bit of fieldwork to see if I can settle my thinking.  It's not locked in until the wood is cut

DFF:  Maybe the woman in the yellow shirt moved her arm?  It could have been a random movement, or "fly trouble", or a "sympathetic" movement from watching the golfers swing.
