6936 was operational last time I checked. Nothing said about the museum restoring or running it. Such a waste if so.

It does say:
Thirteen Centennials survive but 6936 is the only operating example of the type.

Agree that it would be foolish to be handed an operational loco and not maintain it in that condition.

The other twelve were gutted for parts to fix SD40-2s; i.e., they're empty shells.. I certainly hope UP didn't pull the same trick with 6936.

Well the article said the only empty shell was the E9B unit. If I recall thay have that loco in some videos on YouTube but not sure of the year.
I wanna know when they are moving them so I can go watch.

Can't help but think that this is all to draw attention away from UP's recent abysmal PR around the STB hearings.

I thought the guy pulling the coupler cut lever behind the conductors seat was the depiction of the conductor.
