A while back Rapido Trains began restoration of an exVIA Rail E sleeper, “Edmundston”. The car was cosmetically restored in the town of Orangville very near where I live. I thought it would be cool to build one of my own. (Actually I built four of them.). But I didn’t want to paint over cars that had Canadian paint jobs. It’s rare for us to get accurate models so I feel like I’m slighting the model train gods when I do. Soooooo sorry Pensy guys but to make four of these….The other three are awaiting final assembly until the people who buy them tell me whether they want the batteries installed for the lighting. As much as I like the Rapido Easy-Peasy lighting, the batteries leak. I have some that leaked even just sitting in the Rapido packaging. No bueano! I opted to leave them out of the one I am keeping. If ever want to light it I’ll do it with track power. Craig.
I assembled another structure for my Missoula industrial area. This one is loosely based on the lone commercial building in the area. It is made from a store front that was built and cast by Doug Sherman who used to work for GHQ making masters. The rest of it is a DPM kit. I named it after an actual business that was housed in this building.
