Rapido N-Scale FP9A Wheel Gauge Issue

After fixing the gauge issue that started this thread and all of the other "mods" offered by Southern Alberta Rail and others, I enjoyed trouble free running until yesterday.  Now, one of the engines has developed a horrible growling sound.  It sounds like a gear mesh problem but I can't see anything wrong with the gears on either truck.  This is going to take a deeper dive.

BCR751 - well, that is another bit of unfortunate bad news concerning these wonderfully detailed models that are so enjoyable to LOOK at, but can be trepidation-inducing to operate.
