That's right. Use the gallery. Make @tom mann get his money's worth out of it!

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I've also gone ahead and edited the photo above to best label everything as I know it to be called.

Hi, Hiroe: Thank you so much for taking the time to identify the parts in the photograph. Your diagram and the companion PRR view helped me untangle the 2-D and 3-D elements.

No problem. Here's a few more, courtesy of someone I know at Amtrak, right out of their Official Book.

I love that page 20 shows what appears to be an F40PH with a pantograph!

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Would that be an FL40PH?  Why not, no reason they couldn't have built one.

I like the last picture.  Three voltages and two frequencies if you want to run all the way from Washington to Boston?  Or is this before they rewired the NEC?

Those frequencies are still correct as of today, and I wouldn't expect them to change anytime soon. The Corridor signalling was set up before the invention of electron gas tubes or transistors, so the only real tech they had was electromechanical relays and choke coils. This is why the signalling system runs at 100hz, as it's harmonic with the 25hz traction power, and they used those aforementioned choke coils to filter the 100 from the 25 in all of the inductive occupancy detection circuits for every signalled block on the electrified division.  Now, we do now have modern electronics that can separate the 100 from 60hz traction power, but the cost of installing that in every block on the whole DC to NY route is likely why the system won't change in my lifetime. (The PTC/ACES overlay broadband communications run at 125hz, which is within tolerance of harmonic for both 25 and 60hz sections DC-Boston.)

Interesting.  Another thing the MILW didn't have to worry about.  They used DC for traction and AC for signaling.

I know!  I could pretend it's just a Cabbage with a pantograph to supply power for supplemental HEP capacity. The Rhaetian Railway converted luggage cars for that reason.

A cab car would have to have some type of power supply in any case, just to run the controls.  Why not put a pantograph on it?

No stranger than a steam loco with a trolley pole.  I've seen at least one, and several diesels, which had poles to operate signals triggered by trolley wire contacts.

And the Swiss actually had an electric-powered steam loco.
