Are the 5 unit 40' cars that Kato modeled still in use out there in the real world? I don't get out much. Thanks

Add on to that, the ones released originally generally follow the protos from the 90s while the new ones are late 00s and 10s.

Ta very much! Rekon I'll not sell mine this weekend then, although one red TTX set is a repeat road number for me. Me thinks to hang on to it then.

As far as I know, except for SP's original ACF prototypes and those that were wrecked, every north american double stack car ever built is still in service.  Of course most 48ft wells (but hardly all) have been cut down to 40ft.  And most stack cars have been patched or repainted multpile times.
