I'm also working on assembling some old Intermountain reefer kits for my Southern Pacific reefer block.  I have 10 of these to put together; I completed two of them this morning (minus the weathering).

Nate, those look like circus wagons in the background. Scratchbuilt or 3D-printed purchases?

My CF7s briefly stretched their legs on the New Northern Central.  Here they are crossing Duke St

Coming the other way.

Lots of  :ashat: ery in this shot. That's @davefoxx 's old A&R gon second out, and just the corner of @Dave V 's PC boxcar poking out behind the tower.

Thanks.  It looks like he didn't design it to incorporate existing glazing and they have some issues with seating properly on the original casting.  A better printer might resolve those issues and allow for a thinner cab wall.

I keep hoping someone (ahem, Rapido) will make an updated SD45 one of these days and include the NP 4 window cab and the SP L window cab.  Maybe even a SDP40/45 version...

What a freakin weekend!

First I got to hang out with @Philip H . He was the first visitor to the new NCR layout and was suitably put to work cleaning track and puttering around with a GP38 while I hammered out some bugs with recent construction.

We met up with Joe Desmond (better known as Mr Conrail in Central Jersey https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyTY3l_L0bUw3Av5S46he0g) and got him qualified in Baltimore. I didn't get a pic, but of course the first stop was Chaps. Then the tour of the rest of Charm City. He was a good luck charm!

Saturday was a visit from my parents and my second favorite sibling, PRR 5330 (a @cbroughton67 job).

Seen here passing the Amtrak station.

And heading "back to the house" after switching out the MA&PA

And finally, on Sunday, said a tearless goodbye to a friend.

But not without a little JFRTM that just happened to include the current most prototypical MA&PA visitor yet.

What a time!

Finally back to some modeling after I moved recently.  Here's a T-scale (1:450) autorack made with a 3D printed (Shapeways) body and etched brass sides/roof.

I have decal sets on the way (CR & ATSF) to see how it looks gussied up.

I'm also breaking into HO and going to do a little Inglenook switching layout.  Those Rapido SW1200's and Tangent Conrail N7 cabins are just too tempting...

Its a real mark of quality that you made a T scale autorack look finer than what was considered the standard in N 20yrs ago. Any ballpark on that narrowbody mech you've been working on?

Realistically, I'm going to say early 2022.  Maybe earlier?  The motor and main drive gear design is pretty well sorted after a few iterations;  Everything fits nicely inside an EMD long hood and works.  The pickups and way the truck is held in place (my own design, not the usual tiny springs) requires some etch work which has been drafted but I have yet to get prototypes made/tested.  This part is crucial of course.  I have some other etch work needed (the N-scale PRR mast CPL kit) so the prototype parts should be ordered in the next couple weeks;    Jesse

Its amazing how a chimney makes an engine come alive! This one I turned from copper rod this afternoon. The upper rim should be copper, so it seemed like the easy thing to do. The flare at the bottom still needs work, particularly on the other side.

You know, That was another thing I need to do but I couldn't find a good overhead shot.

When I did my fleet of NP SD45's, I didnt add them either. Could never find a good shot as well.

At first quick glance, I didn't see the pencil design either. After reading the posts, I then saw what you guys are sayin... A pencil. :P

Looks like something John Wick would use...........
