Exactrail PS 4000 ATSF Hopper

One of many brown ATSF hoppers I'm weathering.
Faded and weathered with powders. Sealed with dullcote.
Added the repatch road number, ACI and COTS labels.

they...say we can't make this stuff up... but what else could we make?

Nicely done!  I especially like the way you've done the grime buildup around the side ribs.

Well done.

I have a couple of these and the roofs bow up in the middle.  Did you have that problem and if so what did you do to fix it?

Really nice job!  You really just used powders - no paint?

Ed, thanks for the props. I like these cars alot even with their minor issues

Ben, thanks.  I've had the same issue on a couple of these.  I'll pry one side of the roof up at a time and run a thin coat of ACC along the edge, then repeat. I also beef up the discharge gate rails with ACC as they bend and break.

Bob, thanks for the comments.  I airbrush  a light fade with very diluted reefer white paint then seal with a mist of dullcote to give it some tooth. On this car I only applied a mix of powders and seal with another  light mist of dullcote again.
