Lot's of stuff from MTL this month.

Any chance we will see those (Z scale) cow and sheep loads in N scale someday?  I have about 25 empty stock cars.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Happy to see the FGE reefers, although eight cars are way too many for me.

From the number of offerings I am inferring that production and hopefully life for employees is returning to normal after the fire last year in Talent.

Its nice to see MTL finally do a FGE paintscheme on this model!

Looks like a post 1956 paintscheme. The original wooden roofs would be pretty rare by the 1950s, retrofitting the hutchens roof from the Intermountain FGE car would make an interesting variation.

How many do you want??? I have about 50 cows printed in 4 different poses and 3 or 4 different sizes. I think I have a couple of sheep files I could get them printed up for you too. You'll have to paint them though.

Do they need reminding about use of double decks for small livestock?

Since it's a pre-order item, would MTL accept an order for however many individual cars you might want - minus the box in which the full set is packed?

There was a Scott Seekins article either in Model Railroading or in N Scale Magazine years ago on modernizing the MTL reefer, including converting the existing roof into a steel roof by sanding it down to eliminate the slat detail and adding styrene strips to simulate the stamped ribs of a Hutchens roof.

Since it's a pre-order item, would MTL accept an order for however many individual cars you might want - minus the box in which the full set is packed?

Doubtful as then they would be overwhelmed with fractional orders.

Yea, Scott Seekins was a regular in N Scale Mag back in the 90s, right?  His articles did a great job showcasing weathering and Z scale couplers.

The C&NW sleeper is very interesting!  It reminds be of my trips to IRM as a kid.

Are gray BN covered hoppers assigned to a specific service/commodity?

Or just an uncommon variation /using up a predecessors gray freight car paint.

I purchased a gray airslide to go with my green ones to handle flour/sugar.. but maybe a gray airslide isn't food service.

I hadn't thought about asking anyone to do these as 3-D prints due to all of my previous experience with 3-D indicating that the cost would be beyond any budget I have for car loads. But I'm certainly willing to discuss it, if loads (that is, 35 cattle or 100 sheep or 75 hogs packed together, as a one piece part to drop into a cattle car) can be done at an affordable cost.  Do you have links to your products?

Mini-Prints in Canada has N scale pigs, sheep and cattle.

https://www.miniprints.com/product/pigs/
https://www.miniprints.com/product/sheep-plus-bonus-figure/
https://www.miniprints.com/product/cattle/

I am sure these are well done, but at $15 for 5 animals, that prices them higher than painted Preiser or Woodland Scenics figures.

I don't have a store or anything like that. I just try to help when I can.
I'll try try to do a print with all cows first that will fit inside a MT car and see how it looks.

I'm in need of cattle for a stock yard, if you're interested.  :D

Delighted to see MTL doing the C&NW heavyweight sleeper. I don't have a current need for one, but of course I'll have to have it ... or a few.  :)  Will also be in on the molasses tanker.
