I read a book last year about the railways of Jamaica it prompted a little research on-line. Jamaica still intends to reopen its railways system. ‘The Railways of Jamaica’, written by Jim Horsford. It is a Locomotives International publication, published by Paul Catchpole Ltd, St. Austel, Cornwall.

Another visit to the railways of Jamaica, courtesy, this time, of H.G. Forsythe in the September 1963 edition of the Railway Magazine. .....

I have been reading historic copies of the Railway Magazine again. This time it was a bound copy of the magazines from 1963. ........ I came across an article about the Railways of Jamaica in the September 1963 edition which was written by H. G. Forsythe.

Thanks a lot , I appreciate very much these posts , since I worked there in 1973 for 9 months , doing some surveying works for future roads .

To reach some geodesic points we had to walk a couple of miles on a track I would say about 25 miles north of Spanish Town , thru some tunnels and there was also a nice multiple arches bridge somewhere in the mountain .
Very interesting , hope they will revive some parts of it if not all .

Your posts are always interesting !!!
