PS I now know 3D paint is also 2D paint which is dumbed down , thus the problems I couldn't overcome on this header . Future weeks will be better , sorry .

Finished the RBB&B owner’s car. Stripped and polished a CMW ‘48 Ford Woody body before airbrushing peacock blue pearl metallic. Scraped paint from the high-points to simulate the chrome trim, and from the headlights and other lights. Wood paneling and roof hand painted, taillights and parking lights detailed. New 3D printed wheels.

Holy smokes, DKS.  I’ve always been impressed with your animations, but that waterfall is incredible.  My wife asked what I was so surprised by, and then she was positively mystified by it!

Bryan, that’s a really neat technique on the fine details of the woody.  Looks like you got great results!

Nice work on the C415!

My big win this week was getting my Large-scale storage area built and filled.  These 5 Lowe’s shelf units come out to a little over 9 feet long.  With some old GarGraves track, I get exactly 24 meters (~75 feet) of storage, or an average of 48 cars.  This basement room has a dehumidifier, too.

I’m also upgrading to all metal wheels, and tried something new with weathering them.  I chucked each end of each wheelsets in my drill, spun them fast, spattered a bit of gray spray paint on the brown painted wheel faces, and gently wiped the spinning wheels with a rag.  It gave great random rolling wheel splatter effect, as modeled on CNJ 520.

I fixed the image links in my 1:29 equipment refurbishing thread, which has the full story on the CNJ car.

Bryan, the loco looks great so far. What kind of trackage are we looking at?
Thanks, Otto

I pulled the trigger and bought one of the BLI light Pacifics. What a beauty. Out of era, but I just couldn’t say no. Together with the 2 Canadians last week I’ve done my part for the industry.
The vague plan is to Canadian Pacificize it as much as is reasonable into a stand in for a G3. This would include an enclosed CP cab, alterations to the tender (keeping the 4 wheel trucks rather than 6 wheel trucks (both are prototype)), an Elesco feed water heater, move the bell. Domes aren’t correct either, but I’m leery of carving into the metal boiler... This would be my first entry into steambashing. It also occurs to me that there seems to be plenty of room under the firebox for a 4 wheel trading truck, but that would be another level of tinkering.

Working to finish the scenery on a couple of existing T-TRAK junction modules before allowing myself to start another T-TRAK module.
This one is a grain elevator module, tying in with my previous rural ‘Mother Road’ modules. Gravel shoulders and real estate is down, a base of ground foam, first application of 4mm static grass, followed by a second application shown in these pics.
The chipboard road will be painted after all the static grass applications are done.

A rough looking 102, the AC&Ys only RS1, leads a road freight out of Brittain Yard.  Four more years 'til the scrapper gets her.
