And there was *one* early Schneider scheme that was appropriate to the Monon model too.
Really?
Yes. Of course the Schneider logo was a little too large, but really, that's the most you can ever ask for in a Con-Cor.
I reserved a few from the local hobby shop. After looking at what I have, I'll probably pick up a few more online. Lately I've taken the view that if I "need" it, I should get all I need and not wait for another run later on because it could be years before it's available again. (Spine cars *cough cough*)I'm sure the Jacksonville Terminal Company well cars are just around the corner, too.
JTC is one company that seems to be churning out new product with no delays.Atlas, IMHO, did well to get a second run of these to market so swiftly, less than 2 years after the first sold out almost immediately. I think they realized there was a pent up demand for well cars, especially 53' wells. But Lombard is the only place I have seen them listed so far, and that is unusual as Lombard is one of the slower stores to get new product up on their webpage of those I frequent. But in this case they beat MBK, Midwest, and Hogtrainz to the punch.
I find that Lombard ia unpredictably ahead with some products and behind on others.
Still wondering if they have Athearn Big Boys or not, but not enough to call em.
Cool feature of the new run, all the TTX cars are missing the hitches. This is prototypical since the hitches were remove when the cars were rebuilt.
No longer factory installed, the hitches are now separately packaged in a plastic bag that is placed beneath the opaque white car nest.If anyone wants to part with their unwanted hitches, I would like to acquire a bunch of them for a future project.
The FEC ones has them install but its cool that they give you the parts.
