Bullfrog Snot

I just got my second jar of Frog Snot. I like it but the shelf life wasn't very long on my first jar. Anyone know if this is normal and if there is a way to preserve it longer.  Using it on N scale so how much do I really need at one time.  This application is going on the new Scale Trains turbine which is very light in the loafers for a big mighty looking engine.

Thanks,
KTB

Works great, but found the shelf life lacking for sure, It is cheaper then 100's of traction tires, but do you need 100's of traction tires.  If I need it for a loco that really needed traction, I would buy a jar again, but consider it almost a one use product after you open the jar.  I did try to use H2O to reanimate it after it was unusable, but it didn't work.

While I'm not a fan of this stuff, I suspect that making sure the container is air-tight should extend the life. Refrigeration (not freezing) it might work too.  Another thing to try is to place it in some air-tight container small enough that the liquid fills most of it (to minimize the amount of air in the container).

If perhaps you have a vacuum sealer, like a Foodsaver, I’d try that.
I’m not sure how many people do have one, but I’ve used one often for years.
