rapido shipping times

rapido's facebook post last week indicated that the n scale Canadian will ship out late this week. Despite that announcement, someone at my local hobby shop told me that they would not arrive until at least July. is it common for a rapido product to take 3 months to ship out to dealers?

Ontario is in midst of a third wave. We have more cases per-capita than the USA.  The week the Canadian arrived at Rapido HQ the GTA went into super lock down. With restrictions to the point that if they so choose the police can pull you over and ticket you if you are not out for a reason that is essential (work or food - although all
of the police forces have publicly announced that this won’t be happening.) I don’t even know if Rapido are allowed to have staff in their facility as I doubt they are considered essential. This lock down lasts for another four weeks I believe?

So on that note, I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes until then to get things moving, and even then, they are operating  with a reduced staff. Their facility is not large and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a skeleton crew of 2 or 3, when they are allowed to come to work.

I’m speculating. The only part of this that Rapido has said out loud is that deliveries are taking longer due to reduced staff levels, but that was prior to this super lock down.

I’m anxiously awaiting my action red Canadian too. But considering to mood of things where I live, I won’t be complaining for a long time.

I agree with Craig entirely. Much rather everyone is safe. I’ve been waiting for/attempting to build The Canadian for 48 years; I can wait a little longer.

Ship from where? The factory in China?

Factor in time to get the container to the ship, time on the ship crossing the ocean. Transit all the way across the continent to eastern Canada to Rapido's warehouse, ship out again to distributors and shops....  you're probably looking a couple months yet.

They are apparently in Canada and ready to be distributed across NA.

They walked the "random stop and ticket" thing almost immediately after almost all the police services said "lol no, we're not doing that".

But the "stay-at-home" orders are probably affecting the speed at which Rapido is able to process, repackage and ship out orders once the container arrives at their warehouse.

WOW! they not only have the emergency exit windows modeled, but they actually have the one window blocked out on the modern versions (on the sleeping cars)! I don't recall ever seeing those features in any previous pictures
