Suggestion for next ESM freight car

As others have said, the WoT car is a welded, not riveted, car, which is noticeable, especially after weathering.  And they seem to be very hesitant to rerun a model.  Their PiggyPacker is a good example.  There is almost certainly enough of a market for a second run, and from online and print comments, probably enough for a log-loader version.  But they won't rerun it.

We will be offering a laser-cut deck for the WoT model soon.

I saw you posted that on Facebook a while back and wanted to ask what the thickness of the deck will be.  I have a True Scale Coupler adapter designed for that car which includes the metal deck at the bolster.  I designed it to use .020" sheet styrene as decking.

We are including the (simulated) metal bolster tops, laser cut out of cardstock.



Deck is 1/64" plywood, give or take a few thousands of an inch on tolerance.

If a model performs as expected or better, then it gets rerun.  So the lack of reappearance is an indicator on what the overall demand for the model is.  That applies to the flatcar as well as the PiggyPacker.

My recollection is that the PiggyPacker sold out in all roadnames offered, almost immediately and that's been a good number of years ago.
So, I am really surprised it has never been re-run, TBH.

Judging by the WOT move to resin and 3d releases in recent years (when was their last injection molded release?), I would speculate that they are having similar "supply" issues from the Chinese factories that many other importers are having.

I saw that, but the TSC box is integrated into the floor.  It's the only way to get scale ride height without an underslung coupler.
