I take it "ear" 1986 is meant to be "era" 1986?  Kudos on the prototype info, spelling, not so much.

Take the eras that Athearn posts with a grain of salt. For instance, the N&W 2970s they are running are listed as "1970s +" but this series of N&W cars were built in 1980/1981.

Take their accuracy with a grain of salt too - they should be 2980's like the IMRC model...

Athearn apparently forgot that the Micro-Trains model is a much better plan B for an ACF 2980 and should stick to ACF 2970 paint schemes for that kind of $.

Looking over a few Athearn releases in my LHS recently this is something that's incredibly common. Maybe they should get a spellchecker onboard.

Unless there's a major coal hauling railroad by the name of "Northern Southern" that I've never caught wind of.

I have no familiarity with the Husky Stacks. Since it's not mentioned, I assume these do not have body-mounted couplers -- or is like "ear" / "era?"

I'd also like to see someone do the ACF 2971 ... 1960s style.

IIRC, 2971 was only produced in the mid 1970's for a few owners, e.g. SP,  DRGW, SLSF.

Athearn's Husky Stacks are body mounted.  It's an update to the old MDC tooling.  In my opinion MT's husky stack is superior though.  More accurate ladder grabs and more realistic walkways, even if they are plastic while Athearn's are etched metal.
