Hey,
Came across this by accident whilst seeing if Wikipedia had anything on Hagans Switchback (But I'm not here asking you for any of that.
I know allot already). Just that my scrolling brought me to a switchback TT photo I think you'll enjoy..It's not US but, to me, striking.
And I've been thinking something like this instead of wye trackage, just recently !! Funny, that one !
So, TT aficionados (like, who ain't ?)
Go to Wikipedia..Enter: "Zig zag Railways" ...go down to bottom, old photo..Plus, check that early low rail ! ..

Let me save people the same headache I had figuring out which one of the Zig Zag Railways pages you were referring to.

That is some pretty tight clearance.  Whatever works, I suppose.

Nice photo.

Interesting.  Looks pretty "modern" for a wood burner.  Any idea what that locomotive is?   The tender wheels and bumpers make it look European.  And those buildings look like they are on the other side of the "pond", too.

I also note what looks like a water tank level gauge on the side of the tender.  I guess that is a good idea, at least until somebody bends it and the boiler explodes because the fireman THOUGHT he had enough water to make that run, based on the gauge reading at the last stop!
