N Scale Railroading Magazine - subscription refund?
« on: March 09, 2021, 06:58:02 PM »

Has anyone who subscribed to N Scale Railroading magazine prior to the decision by the publisher to switch to free digital online content only, received a refund? I have been very patiently waiting for mine since contacting Kirk Reddie back in March 2020, again in Nov 2020 and most recently here in March 2021. STILL WAITING FOR PROMISED REFUND ONE YEAR LATER!

What's funny for me is after years of sporadically picking up a copy at a hobby shop, I finally decided to subscribe... two weeks before Kirk announced the free, electronic-only publishing move. So I received not a single printed issue for my subscription fee. I had to laugh at myself, "Serves me right."

I simply chalked it up as contributing to the cause; support in arrears, basically.

I was an original subscriber. I've never heard a word or a refund on the remainder of my last paid subscription.
I guess I've just written it off.

Not a cent but I too considered it a donation to the world of N scale. Life really is too short.

I think, I could live without the money and even live without the magazine...as I have the magazine online available EVERYWHERE on earth via Internet.
Kirk has had a lot of work then and has also work today, so I will not sign a petition to get my money back...my 2 cents to this thema.

I got a check for $10 from North American N Scale General from Seattle Wa. There is no note and I have no idea what this is for. Any ideas?

I’m pretty sure that’s the corporate name for N Scale Railroading magazine.

The memo portion of the check should state Refund.

I got a check last week, and on the "stub" Kirk wrote that he was close to start refunding unfulfilled subscriptions, and this was a practice round to get an efficient system figured out.  He also wrote "Thanks for being a guinea pig!"

I had a five dollar check from them when I got home tonight. Pretty sure it’s a subscription refund. I sure wish the magazine hadn’t folded.

They didn't fold - they are around as  a free online magazine.  I know, it is not the same as paper.
