Filled in the remaining gap in the upper level shelf last night.

I hadn't done any Liquid Nails graffiti on this build so far, so I decided to take one of my last chances to get in on it!

I was thinking that also but it looks too much like a kokopelli to me.
There is the long droopy looking grain that could pass for one though.

Hey look, it's actually starting to look like a train layout!

http://conrail1285.com/the-new-ncr-is-actually-starting-to-look-like-a-layout/

You can tell because it's covered in junk.

But really, I've done some important preliminary stuff like getting cork laid out.

Here's a handy tool I made to ensure proper spacing between tracks AND from the back wall.

Then I turned my attention to the area around CP Loucks.

I also played with some fascia and lights.

I actually got goosebumps looking at it as I was turning the lights off last night.

Looks great, the room probably cleared up a lot with the storage under the shelf.

Give some consideration to making the color of the fascia similar to that of the adjacent terrain.

I've thought a lot about fascia color, going back and forth between a matching color and black.  I think I've settled on black because I like the shadow box effect and the way it looks like an art gallery, plus it's a good color for labels, etc...

But I'm not entirely set yet. Maybe I'll go spend some time in Photoshop to try out different variations.

I've been joking with Terri that the real reason I need to make progress on the layout is so that I have something to hide my crap under.
