An additional +1 for the interior rivets.

Are the wood sides a separate part in that kit, or did you have to grind them away from the steel framing?

Separate laser cut/etched real wood sides. Intermountain kits are wonderful things. Makes kit bashing much easier.

I have a couple of those sitting around that need built. What decals did you use? While we are on decals, what decals did you use when you decalled your tichy crane?

No Conrail.  ;)

More research needed to see if these lasted long enough to get ACI labels. Almost certainly no COTS.

You know there's an entire book dedicated to my playing fast and loose with equipment timeframes:

Since my LHS  has a good supply of Vejallo Mecha Varnish for the Gundam building group that meets there I decided to experiment with their gloss and matt offerings. This weekend I grabbed a couple of old precision masters cars from the experiment fodder pile and leftover decals from previous modeling efforts. The cars aren't 100% accurate but will work for our club members to use when we get back to having monthly operating sessions. I was happy with the Mecha Varnishes overall. I just squeezed some into the paint cup and added 1 drop of flow improver to spray over top the Vejallo primer grey. Sorry for the poor photos all I have is the old cell at the moment.

I did some more work on my next two TTRAK modules too.

I'm still roughing in the scenery contours.

The 3-dome is less than 60' though.

Ah, I see it was a facetious post.

I was more trying a new color, left, Model Master burnt sienna, as opposed to trying to match the MT car, right. I am really liking the Model master color. Glad I bought a case of 12.

Enamel or acrylic?

G24 and wreck crane were decaled from Mount Vernon Shops decals.  The X31F decals were from a Tichy set except for the "Automobiles".
