More BLI PRR P70 Coaches coming

Broadway Limited has on it's website now new listings for another run of the PRR P70 coaches due February 2021.

https://www.broadway-limited.com/nscalepennsylvaniap70passengercars.aspx?fbclid=IwAR1X8zdRGTZcLSrRKaNGpX91KGKbCIBwtAgwUFo8yEmR5WXJJkIaZTlsbLQ

Looking at the listings I see coaches painted in schemes targeting the 1931-1937, 1939-1941 and 1945-1948 appearances.  There are two, two-packs available in each timef rame and single cars are available as well.  Cars are labeled P70 for Non-AC and P70R for cars with Ice AC.

New this time are cars lettered for 1940's PRSL with two two-packs and single cars available.

Also new are "Fantasy Schemes" for CNJ, NYC (Ugh), MEC, CN and a Christmas Red/Green car.

Heaven forbid they release PC, a road that actually had them.

Maybe that is a forthcoming 3rd run.

In looking up the HO cars I see they have a new run of HO due in January which has the same set of paint schemes as the N scale announcement.

Doesn't everybody need some NYC P-70s in their 20th Century consist?

No coaches, not even PRR coaches, in the 20th Century consist.  Keeping the riffraff away.

the PRR Futura scheme coaches (1939-41) are pretty cool.

You could put them behind the Rapido FL9 locos to simulate a commuter train.

Got it, but my post was to intended to show that there could be a prototype-based use for those "NYC" coaches - assuming you can overlook that the car type is wrong.

They're heeeeeeeere!

Factory Direct Trains listed them as "in Stock" a few days ago and today my Not-So-Local Hobby shop in Cincinnati shipped me my order.  They should show up at the other shops pretty quickly as Walthers started shipping them out to shops a few days ago also.

I just inventoried a bunch of foobie Blue Comet ones at the LHS. Sure they'll be gone by my next visit.  Curious what people will pull them with.

This is a thing that Kato typically nails.

I've long thought that manufacturers don't do enough to align entire themes with releases.

For example, if Atlas is going to release a bunch of C&O GP9s, it'd be a good idea to do a release of their C&O cabooses at the same time.

I'm sure it'd be a nightmare to manage with their supply chains, but it'd open up a bunch of marketing opportunities for them if they could pull it off.

Exactly.  I don't understand why Bachmann hasn't released a NE style caboose in the CNJ scheme (a RR that had these) when they offer CNJ locos (GP-7 and 0-6-0), other than they are Bachmann...
