Why did that video start with damage already done to that first car.  Did they back up to check and try again?

I'll bet they were tooling along and wondered why all of a sudden the drag increased. Backed up a little, then hit Notch 8 for another go.

Doncha love how that corrugated roof just accordioned up?

That new vid answered another question: what happened to the cars? Man, there's going to be a big insurance battle coming...

That's how I rail: "When in doubt, Notch 8!"  :D

To the left is a dead end into an oil refinery...

And if you zoom out, there is an active turntable with a foundation of the roundhouse still visible.  Cool!

Watched this happen on the P&W once on Cambridge street , South end of the mainline. Only one track was undercut to clear excess plate F cars. They weren't on that track. The CP/SOO used to try once a year to run double stacks through the Milwaukee depot depot hoping that last years outcome would somehow be different-never was. The Sixth Street viaduct was always the same dimension.

Guess what happens when you aren't careful enough measuring the height of locomotive that ends up under the wires in and out of New Haven.

Took a bit of scrolling as well as some zooming.  Here it is:

Too bad Google Maps doesn't have "track view" as well as "street view".  :(

Turntable measures out to 100' bridge and 7.5 degree spacing.

Pretty cool - a turnout on a bridge (not exactly common). 8)

Probably more like they stopped to line a switch then started to pull again.

Yep, I love seeing that the real railroads sometimes have the same trouble as us modelers, trying to shoehorn the track we want into the space we have.

For something else real that looks "modelish", look at the old B&O mainline through Harpers Ferry.  It is going along the river on the Maryland side, goes into a short tunnel through a huge rock as a double track, comes out at the edge of the river as 3 tracks, and immediately goes onto 2 separate bridges, with the 3rd track having a turnout on its bridge, which then leads quickly to a low trestle .  The mainline goes to a station just past the river's edge in West Virginia.
