I just saw this through the LocoNotes online mailing list.

The paint job is what makes the thing stylish.  Otherwise it's a slab on wheels.  The nose must be really built solidly (I hope) to protect the engineer and crew at up to 125 MPH speeds.  It seems to me that there is less nose than on a P40/P42 but I am probably wrong.  I don't hate it though.  Hopefully it turns out to be a dependable engine.

So far the crashworthiness of this locomotive has passed one test.  Although it was not a head-on type of collision, the Siemens locomotive in the 2017 Dupont, Washington crash sustained significant damage, but everyone in the cab survived.

I don't know if i want that to grow on me.   However I been a steam freak my entire life, well from five years old. Anyway I never really liked the PRR T1 or a few of their other odd balls but,  In 1990 I took up the machinist trade and really dug into engineering and mechanics.   Then I started eyeballing the PRR's locos only to fall in love with them.  I get where they were coming from and wanted to go.   Duplex drives. I love how steam was made long before the computer had to think for us.  There were no CNC machines. If only there was more time. Thanks diesels for taking it all away. But I can't blame you diesels entirely.       If I see one of these new toasters on wheels I will give my two cents whether I like it or not.

Yeah, I can live with it, too!  Beats the blasé Acela scheme and incorporates a piece of the blunt arrow.  I like that nod to the past.

I watched a video sometime ago about how we could not reproduce the Saturn V rocket engines today.  Seem that although we have all the drawings and technical data, a lot of the work done on them was done by hand and the skills the machinists and welders possessed at the time has been lost to computers and CNC.
