I’ve never been enamored with the ends of the Kato-designed Con-Cor models, even back in the day. The fact that InterMountain makes multiple variations of roofs and ends makes it easier for me to combine the right puzzle pieces rather than carving off detail and adding roof stampings. It’s easier to body-mount and adjust ride height on an InterMountain core as well.

The Con-Cor models were the best-looking boxcar models prior to the appearance of the Kadee products, although the painting and printing wasn’t the best. But that was half a century ago.

Right on @bbussey , I love the IM 10'6" core kits.  You can easily mix and match roof and ends to a wide variety of prototypes.

For people with unlimited model RR budgets, I guess nothing is impossible.

Always a dig, more often than not.  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Seems to me that kitbashing older models no longer state-of-the-art in order to make them useful again is a way of staying within a budget rather than exploding one.

Also of note is that InterMountain components are not expensive, so having kitbashing parts on hand is not a budget-buster.

But are they available?  I thought IM shut down parts.
