Whoa.... really impressed with the steady & high quality progress you are making.   
Are the curved trestles new or recycled?   Curious to know how long they took to build....

It's not Atlas 55 with its Chinesium turnouts so yeah, I'm guessing it will!

Thanks!  All scretchbuilt new for this layout.  They didn't take too long.  A few days for the bents and a few days final assembly each.  I built a jig for the bents...that saves a lot of time and sanity.

Was skiing all week so not much work on the Midland. 

A number of simultaneous sub-projects are underway from adding fascia (1/8" Masonite) and continuing scenery work to structure placement and additional wiring.

Yep.  Took a spill on Championship at Crested Butte last Tuesday. Hit a frozen mogul and came down full weight on my left hand and ski pole. Thought I sprained my thumb but turns out I tore the ulnar collateral ligament which had to be repaired surgically.

I finished the day skiing but kinda knew I'd jacked up my thumb more than just a bruise.  There's an urgent care clinic at the base of Crested Butte (it's ski-up so very convenient) so went after skiing all day the following day.  X-ray showed no new fracture (there was an old one) but the doc there said my thumb was "loose" and that I should see an ortho doc back in the Springs ASAP.  Skied all day Thursday too even though I couldn't fit the brace into a ski glove.

Yesterday morning I went to the orthopedic group that did my shoulder repair in November thinking the hand specialist was going to tell me rest, ice, and a splint for a few weeks.  Next thing I know she's scheduling me for next-day surgery!  I'm still bewildered by how fast this all went!

Ironically I did the almost same thing, same thumb in 8th grade at Okemo, VT, 33 years ago.  That time the ligament held but the bone didn't, and it ripped a piece of bone out.  My gut says that it probably never fully stabilized since all they did for me then was 3 weeks in a cast, so it was probably ripe for further injury.

You can still probably do more modeling and do it better one handed than a lot of us can do with both.  Hope it heals well and soon.

That looks like plaster cloth.  Did you bandage it yourself?  Add some Sculptamold and make it look like a mountain.   :trollface: :trollface: :trollface: :trollface:
