Progress on the PRR F25 propeller load. I decided to us the 30mm propeller.  Trying to decide how to do the stays.

It would be better but for my butterfingers.  :P  But, here it is, with black windshield wipers and mud flaps:

The same reason the walls don't line up and meet.

I have to disagree.  For those funky-angle corners the walls would have to have mitered corners, something that is not easily done on a laser cutter.

Designing the roof tile pattern on the computer, then printing that on paper would be just as easy and cost the same, regardless of whether the pattern is in scale, or way too large.

No, but it could have easily been done with a file.   ;)

If you miter the corners the kit might no longer fit together correctly.

Progress on the two Santa Fe Rr-37 50' wood ice reefers that I've been working on.  The paint is completed and I'll apply the decals tomorrow.

I had a project going to convert my Nakamura made, for Key Importers, Challenger #3985 into a TTG painted Challenger. I decided on #3982 for my conversion. I used Tru-Color greys and black and Floquil SP Lettering grey. These decals were a PITA to apply. All I need now is to add dullcote and the boiler and tender shells to be placed on their chassis.

As always, the images show some touch up work needed. I airbrushed all of the loco except for the firebox and firebox/firebox door. This is a brass engine, that is 35 years old, with an Athearn tender adorned with KATO detail parts for the tender. A little light weathering in key locations to coverup some bad spots in the finish.

Stay safe and well on the Holiday,

Looks great!  Why not just styrene strip and phosphor bronze wire?  Or even steel wire, which would be less damage prone?
Got my .25mm a couple of days ago.  After seeing it, I can run the .30mm under catenary so I ordered it yesterday.

Spent the evening in surgery...  Freshly arrived in the mailbox today, two C-liners, one with an E8 front truck, complete with pilot, glommed on the back, and one said to be dead on arrival.  I already had one in stock that was also suspect.  After about a half hour of swapping parts and fixing motors, I ended up with one that runs very solidly, and enough parts to fix another one, although I'll need to glean some fresher brushes from another junk box.

Brushes from the burned out C liner went into the motor of my beloved Mike, which has been laid up for a couple of weeks.  It was good to have her back on the road again.

The final project was supposed to be a quick gear swap in an Atlas/Roco GP30.  @randgust graciously dipped into his vintage parts department and supplied me with a new red gear.  Well, as usual, one thing led to another, and about an hour and a half later, I had swapped out the entire truck from a carcass that I had held onto since the 1980s (It had already been mostly parted out to keep two other Rocos in my fleet alive all those years ago)

Everybody's stuff looks great!  Enjoy the weekend as best as you can, and stay well!

True, but how is that worse?  It wasn't fitting together correctly out of the box.  I'd have filed it.  Or asked to borrow DKS's micro table saw.

I finished the decals on these this morning.  All that's left to do is to weather them.
