Atlas Track Cleaning Car

I have been trying to find Alan Bearden's article on here with reference to installing DCC in an Atlas Track Cleaning car.
I have searched using Ron's name, Atlas, Tomix, Track Cleaner, without success, anyone able to advise.

You are correct.  I searched for my user name (u18b) and cleaning decoder tomix or Atlas- nothing.  No hits.

Hopefully the keywords I placed in here will enable a better search for someone next time 

By the way, I did that doc a LONG time ago.    The M1 barely fit.  There are much smaller decoders today.   If I was doing one today, I would use the Digitrax DZ126.   Digitrax and TCS make decoders that are smaller, but it's wasted extra money.  The DZ126 works fine.

Thanks Ron, the Digitrax decoder is the one that I had on hand and used, I am doing a write up for the club magazine I edit and just wanted to make sure of my approach as the unit in question is at the (no access Corona Club).

I just did a simple search (not even using the user's name), looking for "cleaning car decoder" (no quotes).  I searched from the top level of the forum, then couple dozen matches showed up, and I just looked for something relevant.

Ron put me on the right track (pun intended), I now have the information I require, many thanks for all input, my search criteria just didn't cut it.

I'm doing this conversion this weekend (using a DZ126), and the directions from @u18b are nice and clear.
I do have a question - he kept the analog switch on the car. It has three positions - Off, On, and CL-ON.

What does CL-ON do?  I'm pretty sure the manual page that came with the car describes it, but I can't read Japanese.

I'm debating just removing and bypassing the switch - after all, I can turn it on and off (or even turn it into a leaf blower by reversing the motor) with DCC control.

and it was answered.    Limiter for a contant lighting power mode. Since I'm removing the electronix, it won't work anyway, so I'm removing the switch.
