I’ve been working on three more SW1s to go with the one I had done previously. These four units represent the first group to receive MU capabilities that were assigned to Milwaukee’s Austin, MN - Lacrosse, WI line. The “donkeys” were used because of the light bridges on the lineJim
Did John Bjorklund take those photos ?http://www.railphoto-art.org/collections/bjorklund/milwaukee-road-east/Tom L.Wellington CO
Man SW1 overload. Why did MILW use them like that?
I’ve seen some photos showing four or more SW1’s on the point of a train. Was that common? It sure looks good. Chris
I highly recommend it! Yes, it takes extra effort, but the results are stunning. Especially in N scale. Not all the photos - just the "money shots".
Lovely. I assume they were all MUed, otherwise that would be an expensive proposition...?Otto K.
I found a similar shot with much better focus and depth of field.
The lead unit has a Loksound v4 Micro and the other 3 have ESU Lokpilot Nano (non sound) decoders each on their own address. There’s still a little tweaking to do but they run well when MUed together through the throttle.Jim
For a change of pace, I decided my Aliso Street viaduct needed some Pacific Electric “Red Cars” to make it feel more like authentic LA.I cheated a bit, forgive me father, but from four to five feet away, it looks pretty good imho...More on my ATSF LA Division thread...Otto K.
