@hegstad1 , the sugestion below is not meant in any way to criticize your impeccable work.  Folks like me cannot attempt such a feat so I am only offering up something that might work for me.

Have you considered some aluminum strip stock for the support when hammering the skirts? A 1/4" thich strip stock for the length of the car could be filed on the corner for the inside radius of the skirt minus a little for the springback of the brass.  Actually, aluminum can be machined using a woodworking router with the correct roundover bit for a near perfect surface.  I suppose a tight grained wood such as cherry could be used as well.  the Side would be clamped down the same way on top of the bending tool.  Might make for a little less trepidation.

If you are referring to the couplers between the F units, the MTL True Scale coupler will get them much closer together than the 905 plus prevent unwanted uncouplings.

Any prototype excuse to find Northern Pacific passenger equipment on the Canadian Pacific?

I was referring to the front of the A units. I prefer the functionality of the Zs.  I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do between units.  I have used unimates in the past as well as keeping the stock couplers and using functional diaphragms (See my signature).  Maybe I'll give the True Scales a try.

The lettering on the B unit is just decals directly on the grill. This is not ideal but it looks good.  I have been meaning for years to get an etch made for that but, alas...

First coach done.  Again, it uses brass car sides on an ALM core kit.

I noticed in the photo above that the vestibule side was sitting up just a bit.  I found a little blob of glue on the inside of the shell was keeping the underbody from seating all the way. it is now fixed.

Hey all,

It looks like I'm going to be a sheet short of decals and Micro-Scale is out of stock (called and it would be a couple of months before they run them again).  If anybody has extra or partial sheets (60-208) I would be happy to take them off your hands.  Reasonable compensation of course for your trouble.  I actually only need the "Northern Pacific" for the letter board.  Thanks!!!  P.S.  I think I have acquired any stock that was out there on the inter web and my local shops.
