The Pacific Electric MOW department has been very busy. They have tore out the Playa Desnuda junction, and are reconfiguring it into a real junction.

While nothing is nailed/glued down, here is the basic layout of the track geometry.

That is some high speed rail  -  (761.2 mph at sea level at 59 degrees F).

Tackled a fear of mine this week. Weathering. The bridge for the PRR elevated main lines on the LIRR IS was already painted but I wanted to try some rust techniques on some of the panel areas so I sprayed on some rust color in a few spots and while wet added some fine sand.  Sprayed over that with Tamiya TS-6 and picked the sand off the rust paint after the black dried. Added some mid 50's Keystones and added a black ink wash to the decals and rusted areas to tone the rust down a little.

Actually enjoyed doing it!

The corn tassle looks very convincing Mark.  The best I've seen.  A careful over spray application?

I finally finished two of the MUBX plastic pellet hoppers.  More commentary in the AC&Y LE thread.

Do you mean bending the end skirts?  Very carefully!  I use the edge of my metal desk which is rounded and lightly tap with a hammer.

OK, those are some of the best tassles I've seen in N Scale.   Perfectly convincing!

While the wife ran out to pick up dinner, I had enough time to go out to the garage and cut some flex track to fit. I nailed the track in to place, and I plan to start gluing the flex down tomorrow morning.
