Do any of you cool cats out there have one of these?

Would you do me a favor and measure the dimensions of the building? I've got a use for one and want to make sure I allocate the appropriate space while I hunt one down.

Haha, no, Northeast Philly, across the street from the Rohm & Haas plant where my grandfather worked:

Ed,

The building, without the base, is 4.3 inches wide and 2.2 inches deep, rounded up to the nearest tenth of an inch.

The base is 4.75 inches wide and 3.15 inches deep, rounded up to the nearest one hundredth of an inch.  This measurement did not include the two tabs for the parking lot extension.

The parking lot extension adds approximately 2 inches to the width of the base.

Close enough to the US version, I suppose, although no 7-11s here I've run across have windows on the side.

Railfan memories: 7-11s hadn't made it to California yet when I was growing up. However, there was one walking distance from my grandparents' house in Norfolk, where I was introduced to Slurpees. So the afternoon routine when we'd stay there for 2-3 weeks was walk to the 7-11, grab a cherry Slurpee, and then hoof it to the yard throat at Lambert Point to watch the ex-Virginian H16-44s shove coal cuts in and out of the unloaders.

I've seen a fair number with side windows - mostly in more urban areas. Easy kit to "americanize"!

Hmm. Interesting about the side windows; seriously, I never noticed one in our travels, but OTOH urban areas are something we work hard at to bypass.

I'd like one myself for a small-town scene on the layout. It might be a slight anachronism given 7-11s may not have made it to the region during my modeling period, but it would nonetheless look appropriate. The only downside I can think of to this kit is that Japan thing, 1:150. So it would look slightly "Huh?" if placed next to a scale structure.

re: 1:150 - structures are much more forgiving as in the real world there is a lot of variability in floor sizes, window size, etc

Like in this photo, the inner 3 story building is 1:160, while the outers are 1:150 (<---- just kidding!)

Yep. I have very fond memories of these as a kid, purchased from the store I'm trying to model, so it all comes full circle.

You could brick up the side window.

Then, to describe why the brick doesn't match, you could say that's where someone drove his car into it when he missed the brake pedal.
