Application list for ESU LokSound

So I used the search function to see whether we had really laid out a list of what locos the ESU Loksound 73100 ans 73199 could be used for.  I did find the project list here - https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=31981.msg358365#msg358365 and Streamlined Backshops has some guidance on additional installation possibilities.  What I'm looking for though is what board goes in what loco most easily as I think I want to spend some of my stay at home time doing selected sound upgrades.

So, is there a definitive list somewhere?

I don't know of any master drop-in fitment list for the LokSound Select Direct Micro decoders. However, the dimensions of the 73199 almost exactly match the Atlas "medium" light PCB found in many of their pre-LokSound diesel models like Trainmaster, B23/30/36-7, GP40, etc. I use the Digitrax site's decoder locator and use decoder number DN163A0 to cross-reference what models the 73199 will likely fit in. Be careful, some of the models may still need some frame filing to work, like I found out the hard way trying to install a 73199 into a B23-7. The tops of the frame were too close to the components on top of the decoder and knocked off a resistor. ESU's warranty department thankfully sent me a replacement. There may also be some cases where the contact tabs on the frame will need to be bend downward to make more snug contact with the pads on the decoder.

Basically, for Atlas and IM, if the motor contact leads coming up through the frame are side-by-side, then you use the 73199.  If they are staggered, you use the 73100. For Kato and other mfgs, with a generous amount of Kapton, you can use a 73100 with soldering motor lead wires to the side motor contacts on the board.

The real key is making room for speaker.  Highly dependent on the specific model.
