Are these decent models? Truck spacing OK?
 Thanks,

Yes to both questions.  The first run of GP7/9's with the 4 digit part #'s were the ones with the incorrect truck spacing.

Should have just bit the bullet !  I'm still debating on the undec GP38-2s.  Guess I should follow my own advice

It looks like those are GP38's and not -2's.

The local freight line here, the Housatonic, has a BAR GP7u. A low front hood unit done by ATSF.
I believe it's currently in Waterville, ME., for some heavy repairs. Hasn't run in quite a bit.
Might have been a fun project to do.

Must have found a box in the warehouse.
I haven't seen Atlas retailed with Rapidos in forever...

I could be blurring the timelines in my mind, but didn't the cutoff for Rapidos on the RS-11s come with the supplier change from Kato to China?

No.  I have a 1996 GP40 with factory Rapidos, marked China.  They didn't go to knuckles until mid 2000s.  IIRC, my SD35's, circa 2000 came with factory rapidos.  I remember changing them out.

If that CR unit was a 9 with DB and not a 7 I'd be all over it like a bad suit.

So, they went with knuckles around 2050?  ;)

Atlas changed the Geep couplers to Accumates in 2002 (passenger GP7) and 2004 (standard GP7 and GP9).
