The only thing I’d experiment with on the kite would be to slow down the motor which might reduce some of the wiggle.

I used to fly kites like this as a kid, and we had to tie a bow string on the horizontal cross piece or the kite would shake side to side like crazy, become unstable & crash. Also, too short on the tail = crash. Too long a tail = too heavy & kite won’t lift it in the light winds we had in Phoenix. The goal being to get to the end of all the string you had.

I'd either have to add gears, or replace it. That's as slow as it'll run.

I can live with a bit of wiggle. At normal viewing distance, it's a little hard to tell it's even moving in the first place.

Thank you for your kind words, @glakedylan

And now I have a minor dilemma. I've got a storefront that's all glass (great visibility inside) I'd been planning to make a florist. This would provide a colorful and interesting interior to model. However, I'm now torn between that and a laundromat, which would create an opportunity for animation--imagine a bank of dryers, some of then having clothes whirling around.

Anyone care to comment on which they'd think would be more interesting?

Absolutely. In fact, laundromats have hardly changed in the last 50-60 years.
